FAQs

ABOUT THE EVENT

Q. What is Komen on the Creeper?
   A. It’s a 1-day, 15-mile walk that’s making a real difference in the fight against breast cancer.

Susan G. Komen® announced a Bold Goal—to reduce the current number of breastcancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. in the next decade. That’s why we walk, and why we raise money—to make that goal a reality.

2018 is the inaugural year of this exciting event! The money we raise will be used to save lives and make huge strides in breast cancer research.

You’ll find strength, you’ll find purpose, and you’ll find a community of people who will restore your faith in the world as a place of kindness and joy.

Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds raised stay local to fight breast cancer in Southwest Virginia through local programs including medical assistance, patient navigation and education. The remaining 25 percent will support Komen’s global breast cancer research program.
